Graduate-Level Graffiti: Lost in Translation is the third in a series of multidisciplinary projects developed by conceptual artist and poet, Natasha Marin. Lost in Translation is an interactive, multimedia event and will take place at the Asian American Cultural Center in Austin, Texas on Sunday, April 13, 2008.
Lost in Translation is an interactive event, where all participants will be invited to embody various key roles, including that of Artist, Subject, and Patron. Lost in Translation is a community event designed to close the gaps between Artists and Audience Members for the purpose of revealing how Art can be both immediate and accessible to people while reaffirming its collective importance to humankind.
Concept
Lost in Translation crosses cultural, economic, and educational boundaries by interrogating the mechanisms (i.e. language, culture, gender, education, etc.) most commonly used to delineate humankind. Lost in Translation is a collaborative endeavor to unveil the false hierarchies that disconnect us, while exploring the universal Truth of our persistent attempts to communicate the human experience.Intent

Graduate-Level Graffiti: Lost in Translation comes about through the inspiration of two artists, Natasha Marin and Shree Joglekar, who met in the summer 2007 via www.craigslist.org and have decided that being friends is much more fun than being strangers.
